Why is Modulfix a “5-star” floor for a factory?
When an industrialist decides to change the floor of his facilities, he faces all kinds of problems.
The first of these is the shortage of options. Specifically, the alternatives that are valued are terrazzo or continuous floors (like painted concrete or epoxy resins for example).
The second problem is the time and the forms of application of these floors compared to Modulfix PVC tiles.
Both types of flooring (resin and terrazzo) have a very slow application time and must be installed by trained personnel. However, Modulfix tiles are very fast and easy to install and in many cases can be installed by the customer at his own pace. Our 2-people teams install from 500 to 600sqm in a weekend.
On Monday you can work without having stopped the activity! That is a lot of money saving.
Besides, installing a continuous floor often involves having to level the floor, which can cause a lot of dust that is harmful to the machines in a factory. In the case of Modulfix industrial tile, the preparation of the support is minimal and its flexibility allows it to adapt to the screed even though it is not in perfect condition.

Many industrialists complain about other aspects of the above mentioned alternatives (terrazzo and painted floorings).
Terrazzo tiles can be broken by falling objects or by the building’s own movements whereas continuous floors are usually broken or cracked by dilatations, greases or humidity.
Modulfix tiles do not break (they have very high Shore hardnesses but at the same time they are flexible) and since they are made of PVC, they are little affected by liquids or greases.
In addition, thanks to this flexibility, they cushion the fall of pieces to the ground, avoiding the breakage of the piece handled by the operators.
It is true that not everything is negative and that resins have positive aspects, especially a clean and continuous finish of the floor. However, it should be noted that once installed, the Modulfix tiles give this same feeling since the joints are hardly appreciated.
Another factor to consider in a factory is safety and again Modulfix tiles meet the highest criteria. First, they have a R10 slip rating (DIN 51130). In addition, the great variety of colors makes it possible to distinguish areas. Finally, thanks to our Moduprint technology, there is the possibility of printing any image, for example security pictograms (see below).
What model of Modulfix tiles should I install on the floor of my factory?
The choice of the appropriate tile is the result of the study of the needs of our customers by our technicians. The main criteria that we take into account are the weights handled, the type of vehicles that circulate in the factory (pallet-trucks, stackers, electrical or manual system) and the type of wheels (rubber or nylon).
We have 3 ranges for the industry which are the Modulfix X9 Extreme (9mm, extra-hard PVC), the Modulfix X7 Heavy (7mm, extra-hard PVC) and the Modulfix X7 Solid (7mm).
Maintenance of my Modulfix industrial floor.
We recommend cleaning Modulfix tiles with a rotary machine, neutral detergent and a brush that is not too aggressive. It is necessary to vacuum or sweep the dust accumulated on the floor first.
Many users find an improvement after the installation of Modulfix tiles, especially when they had, for example, sandy concrete that left dust constantly .
