The Occidental Xcaret hotel (Barcelo chain) located in the tourist area of Playa del Carmen, in the heart of the Riviera Maya, offers its guests an incredible experience.
Next to the Xcaret eco-archaeological park, the hotel is built within a tropical forest and the guests will be able to meet all kinds of animals in freedom during their stay.
Logically, the hotel has a gym equipped with all kinds of machines designed to exercise the body. The old floor was stoneware, a floor that can be broken by dropping weights and dumbbells and can be slippery when wet. The hotel decided to install a 6mm Energy rubber flooring in rolls, Azur reference (blue chips). The main reasons were that Energy sports flooring stands out for its high resistance to falling objects, and a high degree of anti-slip.
The Energy sports floor rolls have a width of 125cm and are glued while the interlocking tiles are 50x50cm and are installed looselaid (see a tile project). They are made of recycled rubber (the black part) and EPDM rubber particles (the colored ones).
Maintenance of Energy sports floors is quite simple, using a vacuum cleaner and a slightly damp mop.
Energy rubber sports floors come in 3 colors (EPDM blue, red, gray) and various thicknesses (5mm to 8mm) depending on the intensity of use.
If you go through the Riviera Maya in Mexico and feel like doing a little sport before a day in the jungle, the gym at the Occidental Xcaret hotel will be there.
