The Hotel Barceló Las Margaritas (****), is located in Playa del Inglés, one of the most important tourist centers on the island of Gran Canaria.
It has a great variety of services: swimming pools for adults, swimming pools for children. As well as a large tropical garden, a beauty salon, restaurants. And even a playground where children can play while parents relax and enjoy the hotel’s other facilities.
This playground needed a makeover and a safe floor for the children. It had to be made of a material suitable for outdoor use, since, although the playground is covered, it is outdoors. So it is exposed to sunlight, temperature changes and rainwater.
Our recommendation was to install polypropylene tiles. Bergo Royalpolypropylene tiles, 30×30 cm and 13 mm thick.
These modular tiles are very strong and durable. They are designed in such a way that when they are laid, there is an air space under the tile that allows it to “breathe”. It facilitates the drying of the floor after rain, prevents the growth of microorganisms and avoids any unpleasant odors.
Other applications
Bergo tiles are suitable for installation on terraces, balconies, kindergarten patios, swimming pool surrounds. As well as in changing rooms, saunas, pantries, stores. There are also specific ranges for sports courts: Bergo Multisport, and for tennis courts: Bergo Tennis.
These tiles have a system of expansion joints, to solve any problems that may arise from contraction or expansion of the floor due to temperature changes.
It is recommended to place these pieces every 8 to 10 tiles, which can also be used to delimit different play areas.
For this park, a design with a blue background and tiles of various colors was created. Distributed randomly, a cheerful and colorful atmosphere was created.
