MODULFIX COLD
PVC tiles for cold storage rooms
The Modulfix Cold 7mm PVC tile allows to change the floor of a cold room in a simpler way than with traditional systems.
The main problem is the lack of time since it is usually required to quench the chamber or the tunnel (*there are continuous floors applicable at very low temperatures such as methacrylates, but their high price is usually an obstacle). Although the installation of Modulfix Cold PVC tiles also requires the chamber to be shut down, application times are considerably faster than with resins (epoxy or polyurethane) or painted concrete.
The preparation of the substrate is limited and its flexibility allows an adaptation to the screed even if it is not in perfect condition (in areas of extreme cold, a good planimetry is necessary).
Modulfix Cold tiles do not break (they have a very high Shore hardness but are flexible at the same time) and are little affected by liquids or grease (as they are made of plastic).
Once laid, Modulfix Cold tiles give a feeling of homogeneity and cleanliness as the joints are almost invisible as can be seen in the photos.

Modulfix Cold tiles must be glued for two reasons. The first is to avoid shrinkage with the strong temperature change to which they are subjected. The second is to prevent liquids from seeping into the joints and thus have a completely airtight floor. To be able to carry out the gluing, it is necessary to turn off the freezing or refrigeration system (installation at a minimum temperature of +15ºC) 24 hours before. It is important to control the humidity levels. Once the flooring has been glued, it is necessary to wait about 24 hours before lowering the temperatures again. Gaps between walls and tiles should be covered with very low temperature resistant silicone to prevent condensation water from seeping in.
