Modulfix, practical flooring in industrial workshops

The renovation of the floor of an industrial workshop is a complicated task for an industrialist.

The main obstacle is the lack of time, as traditional systems are slow to apply and require stopping the activity. The application times of Modulfix PVC tiles are much shorter and the stoppage of the activity is not necessary.

In addition, applying an epoxy or polyurethane resin involves sanding the floor, which often causes a lot of dust. In the case of Modulfix industrial tile, the preparation of the substrate is limited and its flexibility allows an adaptation to the subfloor even if it is not quite perfect.

Another reason that causes some concern among industrialists about investing in resin flooring is the ease with which they break, lift or crack due to expansion or humidity.

Continuous floors in poor condition

Modulfix tiles do not break (they have a very high Shore hardness but are flexible at the same time) and are little affected by humidity (as they are made of plastic).

It is true that resin floors have some positive aspects, especially a continuous and clean floor finish. However, once laid, Modulfix tiles give this same sensation as the joints are almost invisible as can be seen in the following photo.

What range of Modulfix tiles can I install in an industrial bakery?

The recommended model is the Modulfix X7 Solid tile (7mm). It comes in 4 colors (3 gray and black). It is possible to drive over the floor with very heavy industrial vehicles.

It is necessary to glue Modulfix tiles for two reasons. The first is to avoid possible movements due to temperature changes (it is important to define with our technicians the thermal amplitude in the room). The second is to prevent liquids and foodstuffs from seeping into the joints and thus to have a totally airtight floor.

Another important aspect to take into account is the temperature of the wheels of the trolleys when they come out of the kiln. There must be a waiting time on top of metal sheets before being able to drive on the tiles.

How to clean my Modulfix floor?

We recommend the maintenance of Modulfix tiles with a rotary machine, neutral detergent and a brush that is not too aggressive. It is necessary to vacuum or sweep the dust accumulated on the floor first.
