Bergo Multisport tiles in black were chosen by Nike for the installation of a 3×3 basketball court used in two events in London.
In February, Make it count was organized, with the participation of some of the stars of the sport. Several activities were carried out, with a large number of people attending.
And between July 27 and August 12, during the London 2012 Olympic Games, a 3×3 basketball tournament was organized using the same court.
Bergo Multisport tiles were chosen because they are not only ideal for all types of sports activities. They can be installed both temporarily and permanently. They are very easy to install and uninstall.
These polypropylene tiles are manufactured in Sweden. Their design leaves a space between the tile and the floor once laid. And this facilitates drainage, and favors faster drying.
In addition, they are very resistant to temperature changes and sunlight. Therefore, they are suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation.
Their structure ensures good ball bounce and excellent friction. And they comply with the standard for outdoor sports floors EN 14877.
Due to their high resistance, these tiles can also be used for skating and inline field hockey.
To facilitate the expansion of the pavement, it is necessary to place expansion joints which, in turn, can delimit the playing areas. The field lines can also be marked with paint.
They can be supplied in pre-assembled 3×4 slabs, which guarantees even faster assembly and a significant reduction in installation costs.
For these events, the tiles were installed on the floor in a floating manner, and the lines delimiting the basketball court and the Nike logo were painted. The perimeter was given a more professional and secure finish with ramps and perimeter angles.
