Basketball court 3×3 with Bergo Multisport tiles – Dashape Madrid

On May 12, 13 and 14, one of the biggest sneaker culture events in Spain took place at Chamartín station (Madrid): Dashape Sneakers 2017.

Sneaker is a word that comes from English, and means “sneakers” and is used today for everything related to this type of footwear.

This event consisted of 3 days of exhibitions, music, DJs, basketball, food tasting, live painting and much more, with “snakers” as the main protagonist.

For the fifth edition of this event, which has been held since 2013 and is growing every year, more than 10,000 visitors were expected.

On the terrace, Nike, with the help of the Madball Squad collective, organized a space for various activities related to street basketball. Such as a street basketball competition and a slam dunk tournament.

For these competitions, they asked us to install a floor for an outdoor 3×3 basketball court. They also wanted it to be able to be installed and uninstalled quickly, so that it could be reused on another occasion.

We recommend the following polypropylene tiles Bergo Multisport Silver Gray color.

These tiles, manufactured in Sweden, are easily installed without the need for fasteners. They withstand temperature changes, rain water and sunlight without damage. In addition, they are very resistant and can be installed both indoors and outdoors.

Its structure ensures good ball bounce and excellent friction, according to the standard for outdoor sports floors EN 14877.

We begin by drawing up a plan with the the regulatory measures of the basketball court. Including the Multisport tiles and the expansion joints. These joints are placed every several rows of tiles, and are the ones that prevent displacements of the floor due to contraction or expansion of the material.

In addition, to minimize the risk of falls, we suggest placing ramps and perimeter angles in the same color as the tiles, the perfect finish.

Bergo Multisport tiles are also supplied in pre-assembled slabs of 3×4 tiles (1.1m2). Consequently, the assembly is much faster.

This 17.08 x 13.06 meter basketball court was set up in only 2 hours. The dismantling was just as fast.

On the day of installation it rained in Madrid, but this was not a problem. The design of Bergo Multisport tiles incorporates an air space that allows the floor to “breathe” and dry quickly. At the same time it prevents the growth of microorganisms and eliminates any unpleasant odors. So the next day, activities could begin without any problems, and without the risk of slipping.
