Why is Modulfix the ideal floor in a warehouse or hall?
Changing the floor of your facility can be a puzzle for an industrialist.
The first problem is the lack of alternatives, since normally only terrazzo or continuous floors (epoxy resin or painted concrete) are valued.
Another problem is the time and methods of application of these floors compared to Modulfix PVC tiles.
Both types of flooring (terrazzo or resins) have a very slow application (and drying) time and must be installed by experienced personnel. However, the installation of Modulfix Industry tiles is very fast and easy and in many cases can be installed by the customer at his own pace. Our teams lay 500 to 600m2 in a weekend.
It is possible to work without stopping the activity (when the tiles are glued, it is necessary to foresee a time of 48 hours before circulating with machines).
In addition, installing a terrazzo or continuous floor often involves sanding or scraping the floor, which can cause a lot of dust. In the case of Modulfix industrial tiles, the preparation of the substrate is limited and its flexibility allows an adaptation to the subfloor even if it is not in perfect condition.
Another of the reasons that cause dissatisfaction among industrialists in relation to the aforementioned floors (terrazzo and continuous floors), is the certain ease with which they break, lift or crack due to expansion, grease or humidity.
Example of a painted floor in poor condition
Modulfix Industry tiles do not break (they have a very high Shore hardness but are flexible at the same time) and are little affected by liquids or grease (as they are made of plastic).
It is true that multi-layer continuous floors have some positive aspects, especially a clean and continuous floor finish. However, once laid, Modulfix tiles give this same sensation as the joints are almost invisible.
Another aspect to be taken into account in a hall is safety, and once again Modulfix tiles meet the highest criteria. First of all, they have an R10 slip resistance (according to DIN 51130). In addition, their wide range of colors makes it possible to distinguish zones. Finally, thanks to our Moduprint technology, it is possible to print any safety pictogram.

What type of Modulfix tiles should I install on my warehouse floor?
The main criteria to be taken into account are the weights handled, the type of vehicles circulating in the warehouse (forklifts, stackers, electric or manual system) and the type of wheels (large tires or small harder ones).
We have 3 ranges for the industry: Modulfix X9 Extreme (9mm, extra-hard PVC), Modulfix X7 Heavy (7mm, extra-hard PVC) and Modulfix X7 Solid (7mm).
Cleaning of my Modulfix flooring in my industrial building.
We recommend the maintenance of Modulfix tiles with a machine, neutral detergent and a non-abrasive brush. It is advisable to first remove the dust accumulated on the floor with a vacuum cleaner or broom.
The user’s feeling regarding cleanliness with Modulfix tiles is an improvement after installation, especially compared to painted concrete which tends to leave dust behind on a constant basis.
